Gilbert has been teaching tennis since 1966. He has been a member of the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) for the past thirty-five years, and the United States Professional Tennis Registry (USPTR) for the past twenty. Additionally, he is a graduate of the USTA High-Performance Program.
Gilbert has worked at Genesee Valley Sports Center as the Tennis Director since 1995, consistently producing quality players.
Since working at GVSC, he has produced competitive National and Midwest players in the Junior excellence program. He has been a Midwest Jr. Competition Committee Member for the past thirteen years, along side being a Midwest Coach’s Commission Member-giving Gilbert an immense amount of experince with the tennis world. Being a six-time National Champion and Individual Junior Coach of the Year for 2010, Gilbert has proven his abilities on and off the court.
